What do you think are the advantage and disadvantages of living uo to 100 years of age?

Nowadays, thanks to the progress of science and medicine life expectancy is higher and higher every day. But, is it really worth it living for so long?

Living for a long time may allow you to live more experiences and spend more time with your family. Besides, when one gets retired it is easy to dedicate more time to one’s hobbies or even to learn new things- some old people even go to university to acquire new knowledges.

On the other hand, when people get older, the usually have both physical and mental health problems, which makes their life quality much worse. In addition, elderly people usually suffer from isolation, as many of their friends and relatives have passed away.

In a nutshell, living for a long time could be a really good thing, as long as you have health and friends who care for you.

Does money bring happiness?

Money is something important in life, as it allows us to have a good life quality and enjoy many possibilities , which people with less resources can’t afford. Poverty conditions dramatically people’s life,  as it often implies bad health conditions, deficiencies in education, etc. In addition, it is usually the cause of many other problems, such as violence or prostitution.

Notwithstanding, wealthiness doesn’t guarantee happiness.  Paradoxically, rich people are sometimes more miserable than poor ones, as they don’t have some other important values, such as family, friendship…  Besides, when we get obsessed with getting money, we might neglect other aspects in our life which are, at least, as important as richness.

 In conclusion, we can say that wealthiness doesn’t bring happiness, as there are other relevant things in life, but it is important to have our bassic necessities covered.

Many youngsters have to take decisions every day, from what they are going to wear to the kind of studies they are going to choose.  Some decisions are irrelevant, but some other decisions, like those regarding their future, should be taken by themselves.

Firstly,  because when  teenagers take a decision, for example about their studies, what is put at risk is their own future , and not that of their parents or friends –although other people’s opinion can always be valuable, above all that of their parents.

Besides, youngsters should be mature enough to be able to take their own choices because their parents will not be always there to do everything for them.

In conclusion,  it is always better that teenagers take their own decisions, taking into consideration the opinion of their parents and friends that can always be of use. 

Individual sports are better than team sports

Nowadays nobody doubts if sports are good for us or not. Individual and team sports help us to have a better physical condition.

In the first place, individual sports like cycling and archery benefit us to obtain better concentration and it supposed a challenge in our lives day by day. Moreover it is good because it keeps us strong and healthy. In addition, in individual sports, you don’t depend on other person.

However, on the other hand, team sports like football or basketball transmit us many values, because you don’t have to worry only about yourself, you also have to count on mates who are playing with you. Besides, this kind of sports help us making new friends while we are doing sport, that is good for our health and for our body, so here we can also include most of the characteristics of individual sports.

Finally, to conclude, we can say that team sports are good in every way, and most of the people choose this kind of sports to practice, but if what you want is to disconnect from the world and challenge yourself, then it is better to practice individual sports.

Everybody should study abroad at least once in life

Many people study in other countries (especially English speaking countries) for at least one month to improve their fluency in many languages.

Nowadays almost all the students study abroad because universities offer them some Erasmus scholarships depending on the language they want to learn.

Another reason is the interest of students to learn things related with their degree. Studying in other countries allows students to meet other people, cultures and different customs.

In addition, this is good for them because it helps to complete their curriculum and obtain in the future a really good job. The reason is that when you go to an interview, they look for workers with a high level of many languages.

In conclusion, everybody should study abroad as it is beneficial in every way. 

Describing an amazing place

I'm going to talk about an amazing place called Oxford.
Oxford is an old British university city in Oxfordshire, England. It is located about 90 miles from London.

It is known as the "city of dreaming spiers" due to its Victorian architecture, there, we can find Christ Church cathedral, its green parks full of animals, the famous colleges like Christ College, etc.
The town is crossed by the River Tamesis.
It is a very green city, as it has a lot of trees, plants and flowers wich causes a good smell, besides, the city is always very clean and full of tourists and students, so it is a very nice place.

The weather in Oxford is varied, but most of the time, the city is clouded as it is situated in the center of England. In the winter months it is very cold and rainy.

Oxford is one of the most beautiful and  historic cities I've been to, so I recommend that everyone should go there at least once in life.

PENTATONIX

I have been thinking a long time about what to tell here right now and I’ve just decided to talk about Pentatonix.

 

Pentatonix is an a cappella group of five singers between 20 and 25 years old: Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola, all of them are from Arlington, Texas.

Pentatonix began with three friends that grew up together: Kirstie, Mitch and Scott.

One day they presented to a casting for the glee’s show where they recorded a cover of "Telephone" and sent it in, although they did not win, they became famous in their school, where the band began performing.

They started uploading videos on You Tube, where they became known.

Scott and Kirstie graduated from Martin High School in 2010, Scott went off to the University of Southern California to pursue a degree in Popular Music, while Kirstie pursued a Musical Theatre major at The University of Oklahoma. Mitch was still in his last year of high school.

By this time, Scott met Avi, a highly recognized vocal bass and he joined the group, after that, the trio found Kevin on YouTube, as one of his videos, where he was beatboxing.

Pentatonix met as a group for the first time the day before the first audition for the reality show The Sing-Off. Mitch didn’t attend their graduation ceremony High School to arrive in time for the hearing. They successfully passed auditions for the program and thanks to excellent performances they won the competition.

After that, all of them left their careers and moved to Los Angeles.

In January 2012, Pentatonix began publishing versions of popular and classic songs in his YouTube channel, they also recorded their first album, which sold over 20,000 copies the first week since launch.
They have appeared in many television programs and they have collaborated with many charitable causes.

I have talked about Pentatonix because when I listened them for the first time, I was impressed by what they can do only with their voices, without an instrument.

I think they sing very good and I enjoy listening their music and watching their videos on You Tube.
